  • Come on Friday!!

That's when I see the Dr. next.  I am hoping he allows me to start putting weight on my ankle.  Of course once that happens my Physical Therapy sessions will jump to 3 times a week, but I am tired of not being mobile.  PT on Thursday wasn't too bad.  The therapist stretched my foot and then I had to do some work on a piece of wood that you shift forwards and backwards with your foot flat on it.  That was hard but I did it..   The major work will come when the Dr releases me.  I am still doing my exercises at home so hopefully that is helping.

We finally replaced our old Ford Escort that the frame broke on a few months ago.  We found a little 1996 Geo Metro (white)  for $300.  Definitely a fixer upper so it's a good thing I have a hubby that knows cars.  Alex starts back to school next friday (his senior year) so we really needed to get something that he could take to school.  I am hoping this car will be real good on gas since he will be putting around 60 miles a day on it.

Hubby took me to WalMart last night...  my first shopping trip in over a month.  I got myself in the store and then I drove around on one of those motorized cars they have.  It wasn't fun     No one pays any attention to you, they are all like rats scurrying here and there, hurrying to get in front of you rather than giving you time to move.  It definitely made me rethink my behavior around any type of disadvantaged or handicapped person.  I am always really careful of the elderly and try to assist them in any way possible, but I am trying to think if I have been one of those people so wrapped up in my own stuff that I hurry right over top of people who really need a little more consideration.   Also,  you can NOT reach anything off the upper shelves from those little cars,   am so glad that for me this is only temporary....  And I will be sure when I am mobile again that I pay extra attention to the people that need it...

Things are quiet here right now.  I was able to talk Alex into changing the sheets on my bed.  Sara is doing the laundry.  Alex just grilled some hamburgers for lunch and baby is watching a movie.  The perfect time for me to catch up with all my Xanga friends...

I got a phone call friday night from one of my sisters.  My brother in law and my other sister (not married to each other) are both in different hospitals with some heart problems of some type.  I guess my BIL is in intensive care right now,  the upper part of his heart isn't working so it isn't pumping and his blood is clotting.  I am not sure what they will do about that.   As far as my sister goes I am not too sure if she is still in the hospital or not.  She is a year younger than me, actually her birthday is today.  We got into a squabble a few years ago when I thought she was being childish and told her so.  She flicked her wrist at me in a dismissing motion and I lost my temper.  I grabbed her shirt lapels to make her look at me and she called the cops saying I assaulted her.  I waited for them to come out and they told me that even though I hadn't touched her skin it could be qualified as assault.  I went home and haven't spoken to her since.  I am beyond all that, but it seems she isn't.  So I told my other sister to keep me informed, if she wants me to come all they need to do is call me.  Otherwise I will just check on her thru one of my other sisters.   I haven't received an update yet so I am hoping that is good news...

Hubby is at work..   He gets off in about 4 hours...

I got a paper in the mail the other day.  It was for our back to school bus meeting     Already.....   sigh.....   where did my summer go?????   Oh yeah....   I spent it in bed         enjoy your Sunday everyone

  • That's rediculas... even though you only held her lapels, she could get the upper hand in the courts. Sometimes people just go too bonkers.

The summer has seemed to go by too quick. School starts here on the 13th of August... rather late this year by about a year.

Hope you're feeling better! Hugs, Tracy

  • I hope you get some good news on your next doctor visit, too.  I know you are ready to get up and active again.  That's great about the deal you found on the car.  I think it would be so nice to have a car mechanic in the family.  Those repair bills can really get expensive.  My brother was an amputee and he always had to get around in a motorized scooter.  He said the exact same thing about people being rude in the stores.  Ever since he mentioned that, I try to give plenty of space to handicapped people using them, and I also offer to help get items from taller shelves, as that is also a problem for them, especially at the big warehouse store.  We are in such a hurry about everything these days, but that little bit of help can mean a lot to a handicapped person or an elderly person, for sure.  I totally understand and agree with your position on your sister.  There is a very valid option called "no contact" that I have had to implement with a couple of inlaws.  It's a healthy thing, if done the right way.  Some people are just not good to be around and let them continually bring you down.  I will say a prayer for her and your BIL for their health.  <3
