I had an eventful weekend… Saturday hubby worked on the deck.. He took a vacation day so he had another weekend off! This is highly unusual for him and I have really enjoyed it. Usually his days off fall during the week when I have to get up early and drive the bus. This way we both got to play lazy and stay in bed awhile and snuggle
He got the stairs built and part of the hand railing done. Tomorrow he is going to work on more of it. Saturday afternoon it cooled off and got rainy again so he called it an early day. Sunday was spent doing more work on the deck for him… It is getting closer to being done…. Now for my Saturday… I participated in an all day crop contest at one of the scrapbooking sites I belong to… scrapoutsidethebox it was a crop done for the American Cancer Society. All funds from the sale of the main big charity kit went to them. The site raised almost $700. But the most exciting part is that I won first prize for a layout I submitted
I also won first prize for the most participation, but they said I couldn’t win both first prizes and so the participation prize went to the next runner up… I won some gift certificates to a few different scrapbooking stores, and the big prize is a gift collection from Creating Keepsakes. I have no idea what all will be in it but it is coming to my house thru the mail…. I will keep you all updated
This is a layout I did from a picture I took of my 2 little granddaughters back in March. I changed it to B&W and softened it a bit and here is the layout...Monday was back to work for both of us.. My days are pretty much all the same. Get up, get on the bus at 6:31, get home at 7:45am, do laundry, any left over dishes, feed baby breakfast, etc etc… Hubby usually comes home for lunch so I do get to see him during the day, and then he goes backto work. Soon after that it is time for me to drive my afternoon route… Then I get home and just be lazy usually. Or at least I try too

Hubby gets tomorrow off. He has plans to work some more on the deck. He wont get another day off now until next Friday. On October 6th we are driving up to visit with his mom for a few days in Ohio. That will be a nice break for us. Then it will be come back home on the 9th and back to work on the 10th. Nothing like jumping right back into it..
Not much else happening around here… I wont bore you with any stories about how rotten the kids on the bus have been. But I did get a new seating chart drawn up today. I have tried to put the boys away from each other and put the girls in between them. Maybe that will keep them a little quieter. If not I will be back to changing seats around again. It just makes it hard when you have 50 kids on the bus and only so many seats… (50 is better than 60+ though)
Oh well, have a great night xanga buds

Thanks for visiting my site- I love yours...your layout of your granddaughters is gorgeous! Thank you for commenting on my RS photo. I have a 5x7 of it on my entertainment center- although, as hubby says, at least it's not on the nightstand!
Have a great Wednesday! Laurel
I must be wigging out...the sweet picture of your granddaughters actually got me all choked up this morning. I've never heard of a 'crop contest' so I'm gonna have to Google that, but CONGRATS on taking home the Numero Uno spot!
LOVE the layout and may just hafta borrow it, with your permission of course? Congrats on winning. October is Croptoberfest here in NH with my CM demonstrator. I couldnt' go this year, but it's always a lot of fun! Keep us posted on what your gifties look like! whooo hooo, you rock!
I know nothing about digital scrapbooking, although I did just buy some dummy-proof software when girly girl got her new computer. CraftTeaLady was telling me about the basics a month or so ago; and it sounds very cool. My biggest issue is finding a few more hours in the day to do something like that!
I love your layout! Congrats on taking the top spot. I bookmarked the site so I can go back sometime when I'm not supposed to be working...
LOL
CONGRATS on winning!!! The layout is beautiful! I scrapbook too, but not digitally.
Your deck is coming along nicely! What wonderful work your hubby is doing!
Have fun in Ohio! What part of Ohio? Doug's family is from Portsmouth, OH. Haven't been up there in about 10 years, tho. Guess we won't go again till his grandma dies. (She's in an Alzheimer's nursing home in Charlotte, NC)
Hugs, Tracy
Hi Dyanna...Thanks for the smile...I thought that I would come by and leave you one in return!

That's great about winning the top spots! I love the layout, too. Have you ever looked into flip album software? I have an older version of it that I've used a few times. I did one professional project in it for a friend's 25th wedding anniversay. I would love to hear more about the digital scrapbooking. I've done a little of the real kind, but it gets really expensive to do. There's got to be a happy medium somewhere... LOL! Have a great weekend! Sorry to be late in coming around. I'm finally feeling like a human being again. <3
i love ur layout! Congrats on winning 1st place! Cort was sposed to take me to get my senior pics done at some lady's house, but he's being an asshole, and it'd just be easier for me to have Mom and Dad take them here at home. Our neighbor has some great scenery and a nice house that he'll let me use for the bg's. I'm going to try and touch them all up here at home on the comp instead of taking them to a professional photo place. I love ur layouts, and i was wondering if u have any tips on how you make them, or what software you use? I have photoshop elements v.3.0, and I'm still learning. If you have any tips, it'd be fantastic! Hope your week is great! I'll ttyl! *~¤Katy¤~*
Just dropping by to say hello. Haven't been feeling too well this bug I've got sure hangs on! I've had a nagging headache ever since I got sick and it just won't seems to go away.
Congrats on winning! Your layout is beautiful!
