  • School has been cancelled today…   Lots of snowing and blowing is going on outside..  When this storm is over we should only have about 4” more of snow, but living out in the rural area the blowing snow is what will get you.  This makes our 3rd snow day.  As of right now school will let out on June 1st if we don’t get any more snow days…   Why is this important you ask?   Well, because I am a schoolbus driver..  I look forward to summer vacation every year.  That is the time hubby and me get to spend long days out on our Goldwing.  We go wherever the wind blows us.  This year we are hoping to travel northwest and see some new sights.  Last spring we rode down to Florida for 8 days. We went thru New Orleans and down to the Fort Walton Beach area.  It was only 28* when we headed out but the temps were soooo nice the farther south we got, we almost didn’t want to come home.  Last year was also nice in the fact that we got 2 new grandsons and a new granddaughter   That now brings our total grandbabies to 5    (forgive me if I jump from thought to thought, I tend to do that sometimes)

Our youngest daughter turned 3 in October.  She is our baby and very loved and spoiled, just ask her brothers and sisters   In 2 weeks she goes to her very first preschool screening which is pretty much just to see that she is developing at an appropriate rate for her age.  It also means that it is very possible she might go to preschool in the fall.  I am not really sure how I feel about that.  When the time comes I just might decide to keep her home another year.  I am sure little Miranda would enjoy the company of other kids though.    I think on this last note I will sign out for now…  Have a great day

  • Funny you mention riding on a GoldWing... my hubby is really pushing me to let him get a motorcycle (a cruiser, not a "pocket rocket" type); and I'm on the fence. On the one hand, I can understand why he wants it and kinda like the idea of going on rides with him; on the other hand, I really don't want him to get hurt (or worse) because motorcycles are inherently more dangerous than cars. Hmm.... any words of advice for a nervous wifey? You can check out his ramblings on the topic at http://www.xanga.com/avidbassdad2007.

You must have been posting to me when I was making my new (longer) post for the day! Funny, because I mention in that some of the sites I had been trying to comment on... LOL! Glad to hear from you again; and I'm so glad you enjoyed my Hong Kong posts. One of the down sides of business travel is that you don't get to share the experiences with anyone; and this trip was cool in that I actually had time to see a bit of the sights and take pictures, plus I got to share some of that with my Xanga friends & family. Glad to see it was enjoyed by quite a few people.

Next trip is Paris in March. I've been there several times already (my boss lives there); but I hope to have a day to tool around the city again. Too bad I don't know a word of French!

  • Yeah, any advise you could offer her to ease her mind a bit would be great! I am taking the Safe Riders Course from H-D and I am not looking to go fast. Just have fun. And would love for Shirlann to join me eventually.

  • I know what you are saying. Ashley is thinking of taking a year off before going to college. We told her it was up to her, and that we would support her either way.

Hope you get a long summer. We don't ever have snow days... we get hurricane days instead! lol. Ashley graduates May 11th... and school for underclassmen ends May 18th. Of course, school started August 9th...

    Hugs, Tracy

  • Hi Dyanna!  Its nice to finally hear from you!  Thanks for the early Birthday Wishes...I really appreciate them!

  • Hi there!  Your motorcycle trips sound like a lot of fun, and I think it's neat that you and your hubby do that together.  Kids grow up so very fast... just enjoy your special time with your little one while you can in the way you feel best at the time.  Next thing you know, you'll be marrying her off like I did my daughter just before Christmas... :sniff: :sniff:

Thanks so much for your comment, too.  I really appreciate that very much.  I hope you have a wonderful valentine's day!  <3
