Hello everyone… It’s been awhile since I took the time to hop in here and update
I have about 20 minutes and then I need to go pick Hubby up from work… I would say things have been pretty quiet here lately.. Until a few days ago when out 2nd car died. It is an old ’87 Ford Escort that hubby had been putting back together for the last 6 yrs… The other day Alex was driving it to school when he felt a pop and thought the shock absorber had broke… Nope, the entire frame broke
He and hubby were able to get the car back home, but there is nothing left to do but have the junk guy come out and tow it off. I hate to see that old car go. It has been good and gone a lot of miles.. Now we have to try and figure out a way to get something to replace it. Add that to the fact we are also in the market for a new riding lawn mower and the money just keeps adding up. We have to replace the old mower cuz there is just no glue strong enough to keep it together anymore. We got it brand new in ’99, but with mowing this acre and hauling trash and brush and pulling a cart, it is just wore out too. Hopefully we can get something else soon before the grass gets ahead of us. The ice storm we had about a month ago knocked all the power out around here for a week in some places… We were lucky and out power was only out 24 hours, but we ended up buying a generator so we could heat the house and keep the refrigerator and water going. So much for our little nest egg… Well, time to go get hubby already.. Hopefully I will get back in here soon to finish my update. Have a great weekend everyone

I hear ya about the nest egg deflating. I soooo wanted some new carpet and hardwoods in our house. Our carpet is beyond shot. But Sherri decided she wanted to get married next month... so guess where our flooring money went?? Don't get me wrong... I am thrilled to make her a beautiful bride and all... but that still doesn't help the awful carpet!
Sorry about the truck and lawn mower. It always stinks when we have to replace big items like that. I cried when we had to trade in our ten year old truck a few months ago!
Lots of hugs! Tracy
Hi there! That just stinks about everything breaking at once. :nono: I hope you find a good car at a great price. Our nest egg disappeared after the wedding last year, but I guess that is what nest eggs are for? :giggle: Here's hoping you still have some nest egg left when it's all said and done!
Have a great week!
The seach for the motorcycle got put on hold with the major purchases we have made - new car for me, new deck for the house and a new fridge. Maybe later on in the year? Nice to see you back.
Just wanted to stop by and say hello since I haven't been over here in a long while. So sorry to hear about your car. Things like that always happen at the most inconvenient times, don't they?
Take care~Laurel
Hi Dyanna...it was good to hear from you. I havent been up to much...just school and keeping my grades up...thats about all. Well I just wanted to stop by and say Hi and leave you a Smile
Because sometimes all you need is a smile to brighten the day.

Oh, I'm having the same kinda month or two! We took a vacation, kinda unexpectedly, for Spring Break as a treat for us as a family. Then we got the new deck put on our house (see pics on my blog from around April 13), the same week as that was being built, our refrigerator died. Then we found out last week that our boy's band trip next school year is in the FALL, not Spring as we had planned, and it's going to cost $1500+ for him to go! (Waikiki) Nest egg? What nest egg? I'm pulling twigs out of that thing now!
But, this too, shall pass. Money comes, money goes; and I really do try not to worry about it too much. It sure has been going a lot lately, though.
Finally. Someone who doesn't update any more often that I do! Hope you're doing okay!
