I am sore.... Sore and tired. I went in today for my first physical therapy appt. I guess I got off lucky, but I don't feel like it. My therapist gave me a sheet with 5 different exercises on it to do. I am supposed to do 1 set of 10 of each of these 3 times a day. It doesn't sound like much, but tell that to my poor stiff ankle. I am supposed to pump my ankle back and forth and then try to stretch it as far up as I can, write the alphabet with my big toe, rotate my ankle in circles, and swing my ankle back and forth, then use a towel across the bottom of my arch to pull my ankle as far forward as possible. After I went thru all of these she hooked the machine up that delivers electrical shock pulses to my foot and ankle and wrapped me in an ice pack. Now I am hurting. I took 1500 mg of Tylenol after I got home. I take Nabumetone (Relafen) morning and night for the Rheumatoid so I cant take any extra ibuprofen.. Tylenol or pain medication is about all I can take so I tried the Tylenol. I do have a 12" ice pack that hubby picked up for me, it is in the freezer getting chilled right now. The therapist has me on the schedule for twice a week until the Dr okays me putting weight on my ankle. Then I will kick it up to therapy 3 times a week. I go back on Thursday then I am good til the Tuesday after.
On a brighter note, Miranda's Sunflowers are blooming
She is so happy. Her and daddy planted them 2 months ago. She went out and watered and watched over them. Now they are over 6ft tall and blooming
I love how excited her face gets when she talks about them...I swear I need a whip... Why is it that the kids cant keep their chores done? I have an answer, it is because I am not out there running roughshod over them if they don't get them done. It takes Sara all day long to get a couple loads of laundry done, forget getting the trash taken out. She doesn't even see it til it is falling out of the can and someone else mentions it. Alex cant seem to keep the dishes done. I am getting so tired of it. I need to get my ankle back in shape just so things get done around here...
Hubby stopped by the grocery store again tonight.... $73 later he comes home. I really appreciate him doing the shopping but I have come to the conclusion that I watch prices way more than he does. I love him to death but I sure don't like the amount of money he spends.... Oh well.... If he didn't stop, we wouldn't eat since I am not on the mobile list...
Time for me to cut this off. I am tired and sore and going to attempt to relax and watch a movie... I hope everyone is having a good night

Hope your ankle gets to feeling better! It does sound pretty painful. Hugs! Tracy
Ouch. Sorry, honey. The worst part about those darn "physical terrorists" is that once you finally get to the point where what they make you do doesn't hurt any more, they add something new that does. It IS worth it, though.
I got the coolest ice pack from my physical therapy after my knee surgery. It's a pad that can be wrapped around or draped across your leg (knee, ankle too) that's about an inch and a half thick and full of some kind of gel that hold the cold with a little weight to it. It's AWESOME. We still use it regularly for backs that get sore or other minor pains.
Kids just don't do chores like adults do. It's just that simple. I wish I had a cure; but I don't. If you come up with anything, be sure to let me know!
Bless your heart. I bet you are in pain after all of that.
uch: I sympathize with you on the kids and chores... :giggle: I think the only solution is to pack them up and move them out.
That's great that your hubby is taking care of the grocery shopping for you right now. I think men always seem to find a few extra things whenever they make a grocery run. I know mine does. I try to keep him out of the grocery store as much as possible, since he is an impluse shopper. I hope your pain subsides soon. Hang in there... it will be worth it, I'm sure. <3
Are you feeling a little better today? Whatever you do, don't tell those terrorists if it doesn't hurt any more to do their evil exercises!!
Awww - I feel for you with all the pain you are going through. Soon I will be a distant memory and you will be able to do the things you enjoy. In the mean time I hope it doesn't get too painful for you.
And the kids and there chores....I with you, all moms need a whip. I had to laugh when I read your post cause it is exactly the same way around here.
Hope all gets better soon. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Love & Hugs...Sherri Lynn
