Happy New Year to all my xanga friends….I haven’t been around lately, (not that many have noticed I imagine)I have been keeping up with a lot of you thru my xanga digest so I semi know how everyone is…Tomorrow school starts back up. I have been on a 2-week vacation from school for the holiday but all that changes tomorrow. I can’t say that I am overjoyed that school is starting already.Seems like it just let out. Oh well… So lets see… What’s been happening around here?? I have another lousy sinus infection. Hubby has been sick for the last week too. I think he has some kind of tummy bug though since he seems to be having all those problems. I think he is getting better but he still feels a little off. It hasn’t been bad enough to keep him home from work though. The kids are all doing fine. Alex is finishing up his project for US history… Sara is playing Curious George on the computer with Miranda… The new septic system is finally in. My yard looks like a war zone though
We did get some grass seed planted a few days ago. I am hoping that with the rain we have had that come spring the grass will be growing and all the mud outside will be a pretty new lawn. The guys putting the septic system in managed to cut our phone line and crack and knock our computer satellite dish out of whack.
Hubby was able to reposition the dish and he got the phone line put back together so everything is fine now. I was thinking with both those problems we should have gotten a break on the bill, but we were just too nice to push it. Also Ron got the drywall up in the living room and has the first coat of mud on the seams. He is talking about getting the first layer sanded so he can get another layer on and we can get moving on the texturing and painting. I can’t believe the difference in how nice it looks already even without the texturing and paint. It is just nice to have actual walls instead of just insulation
Not a lot else to report… We had a nice gift this holiday season… One of my xanga buds, SherriLynn, and her wonderful daughter, LusciousRedLips, stopped by with a big Christmas basket of homemade goodies
Everything was delicious! Thanks so much Sherri and Bri, we loved it
On Christmas Eve Santa made a quick stop. Miranda and my little granddaughters were in awe
They were just so tickled to see him, he even brought little gifts for them.. We had a great day with all the kids and their families and then on Christmas Day we spent a quiet day at home with Alex, Sara and baby. It was nice… New Years Eve we celebrated our wedding anniversary. At the last minute I was able to get reservations at a very nice hotel that was sponsoring dinner and a dance. We enjoyed a wine and cheese appetizer, dinner and dancing. At the stroke of midnight we celebrated with a kiss, we like to say that every year on the stroke of midnight the entire world celebrates with us
Kinda corny, but we like it
Then back to our room for a more romantic evening… The next morning we enjoyed a champagne brunch and then it was back to reality. We stopped at Menards and got a new sump pump to replace the one that finally died and came back home to get a few more chores done. Later that night we took all the kids to see the movie Happy Feet. We all enjoyed it and I couldn’t keep baby from jumping up during the movie and tapping her little happy feet
Not much else to report so I am going to head out. Take care everyone![]()
